The Smarties community in Upington required gravel roads, a water network, and sewer network for 328 unserviced stands. GIC overcame challenges such as hard rock excavations and groundwater seepage with the assistance of local community members employed on the project, with the project completed on time in May 2021, having begun work in February 2020.
